Hey guys! Lately I’ve been feeling really artsy, and as I’m also in the process of redesigning my room to a wanderlust/adventure/boho theme, I thought I’d share some of my crafts with you! This craft… More

As most of you know, my resolution for 2018 is to practice saving more money for trips and college etc. Saving money has always been hard for me, but I’ve come up with 9 tips to make it oh so much easier!
Create a Budget
Make sure that you know how much you have to spend and how much you need to save. Keeping track of your accounts is one of the most basic and easiest ways to save money.
Don’t Spend on Weekend Fun Every Time
I know, as a teen, that its easy to spend all of your money during the weekends. Maybe on Saturday you go to the movies and out to eat, and on Sunday you go shopping with friends, and all of a sudden all your money is gone by the time you get to Monday. There are plenty of free, fun, and exciting things to do.
Carpool As Much As Possible
If you’re old enough to drive a car, you might have figured out that spending money on gas can be expensive. Try to carpool with friends as much as possible and split the costs.
Buy Things Used
You might be surprised how much cheaper it is to buy things used. Shopping for a cool new outfit? Try the thrift store.
Figure Out What You Want to Do Before College
So many teens spend a fortune while going to college because they don’t know what they want to do and so they keep on spending a fortune on classes. Try to figure out what you want BEFORE you go to college. Think about what your interests are. If you’re not sure what you want to do, you can take a quick and easy free career test here.
Apply for Scholarships
Like I said before so many teens spend a fortune while going to college, but once you know what you want to do you can apply for scholarships that fall in that category. So many scholarships don’t even have people applying for them. I suggest using Scholarships.com They ask you what your interests are and then give you scholarships in that category!
Avoid Going to Malls
I don’t know about you, but what I’ve discovered in my many trips to the mall is that they are super expensive. We’re talking way expensive here. Yes, its the cool thing to do, but you might not be so cool anyways if you don’t have any money.
Know the Difference Between Wants and Needs
This one seems basic, but really, it isn’t. Do you really NEED that new outfit that everyone’s wearing or do you just want it? Do you NEED to go out to eat, or can you eat at home? There’s many different ways to look at wants and needs.
Try The Coke Bottle and Dimes Challenge
I’m very much in favor of this and am going to do it myself. Basically you take a coke bottle and fill it up with dimes, and when its completely full, you’ll have around $600 in dimes! I think it’s a great way to save up money!
Thanks so much for reading, and don’t forget to follow my blog, like this post, and comment below some tips YOU have for saving money!
As I stated in my last post, one of the first items on my 2018 Bucket List is to write a letter my myself and open it in a year. So here it goes! Hope you guys enjoy reading it! BTW I used the source Future Me…if any of you are interested! They’ll send you an email of your letter in any amount of time you ask them to.
Dear Future Self,
It seems strange to be writing to someone who is me, but yet isn’t. You live a different life from mine, yet it will be somewhat the same. It seems strange to be writing to someone who will wish like me, yet be wishing for different things.
I hope that this past year has led you to having many new things: new adventures, new friends, and new laughter. I hope that you still love despite the number of times your heart has been broken. I hope that you’ve learned new things, with new people.
If I could give one piece of advice to you, from the person I am today, it would be stay true to yourself. Keep on being your crazy self. Keep believing in the small things. Keep wishing for bigger things.
I hope you remember what you’ve gone through to get to today, and where you are going to be in the future. I hope that as you read this letter you let go of your past regrets, doubts, and fears.
I know that as of this moment you are doing the best that you can, and I believe in you. You’re going to do great things someday. The biggest step you will ever take is to blindly trust in who you are. The truth is that being beautiful means being yourself, loving yourself for who you are. Some people won’t understand that, but I do.
Lastly, I hope that you have learned that you can still be sweet and a good person and still say no.
Now to the Unselfie Challenge Giveaway Winner!!! I know you are all on the edge of your seats to hear who actually won the giveaway…and…it…is…….
Congratulations Ava! I’ve already contacted you, so be sure to check your email, and to all our other entrants, thank you so much for participating, and I can’t wait to do it again next year!
Don’t forget to comment below what YOU would write to yourself in the future!
Hi everybody! Can you believe that it is actually January first? Yeah, me neither. I actually have to do school today, and when you are reading this, I am probably going to be crunching away at my exams. Oh joy. (That was sarcastic if you didn’t catch it)
But either way, its the new year, and as always, I want to start off this year on a new foot. I want to have brand new adventures and to laugh often and spend time with amazing friends. Below are a list of some of the adventures that are on my bucket list for 2018! As I complete them I’ll write posts about how much fun I had!
A Sparkler’s Photoshoot! I’ve wanted to do this forever! I can’t wait to try it.
Sleeping under the stars without a tent or anything! This is definitely going to happen this summer! What would be awesome is if we could do this with a trampoline.
I have so many memories this album won’t be able to fit them all, but I want to do one for my most special lLife moments…with all my adventures inside!
This one might seem easy but I think it would be so much fun to make a bookmarks and leave them in some of my favorite library books!
Oh goodness! I haven’t taken one today yet! Yikes! Every month I’ll publish some of my favorite photos!
A glitter photoshoot? Yes please!
Oh Disney, you make some of the best movies….and I can sing along to almost all of them!
My family has some of the best recipes, and I’ve always wanted to gather them all together into one great big book…I’ll write a post about that soon!
This is also something I’ve wanted to do for a while! Instead of doing it for a month I might do it for Lent though!
Stargazing from a roof is similar to the sleeping under the stars, but just as exciting!
I’ll publish my letter in my next post! Be sure to stay tuned so you can read it!
I love having bonfire’s, and I really want to have one with my friends before I move this summer.
I know that this is super whimsical, but almost every summer my family and I try to catch fireflies…They’re just so beautiful!
This one, again, is to satisfy the whimsical wishings of my heart!
That’s it! My 2018 Bucket List! Don’t forget to comment below some things on YOUR 2018 Bucket List
Thanks for reading guys, and I can’t wait to go on an adventure together,
Hi everyone! I know that its Friday right now, and if you’re like me, you’re exhausted from a long week, or if you’re not like me you’re not excited to go back to school after a glorious winter break.
Anyways, I have wanted to do a collaborative post with Erin from Kitty Jade for a while, and now it’s finally happened! Erin is so sweet and just a real person, and since we are both fairly new to the blogging community, we decided to do a Q&A post. I think a good way to think about is is like you’re sitting right across from us and listening to us talk to you in depth about ourselves, like friends.
– What inspired you to start your blog?
Erin: I have always written stories and sometimes a bit of journaling and I found that a blog would be a lovely way to spill my ideas and mix up both of my hobbies, photography and writing.
Noel: I’ve always wanted to blog, and I love taking photos and writing so it seemed like a good option. I really just want to inspire people to live a life worth living.
– What is your favorite genre of music?
Erin: I have a bit of a mix up! I love Pop music and a bit of rock ’n’ roll but I also love country music so I’m kind of stuck to answer this question!
Noel: I can’t choose!!! When I’m studying or doing school I usually listen to contemporary classical music, and when I’m working out i listen to modern pop and maybe some rock and roll… I really just like music that makes you feel something.
- What inspires you to write on your blog?
Erin: My environment, the people and nature around inspire’s me, not only to write but to take great appreciation of everything around me and, like Noel, I know that it’s actually making an impact on other people.
Noel: I think that part of it is my amazing followers. I love watching the number ticking up, and thinking, like, “Wow. What I’m writing actually has an impact on people, and its making a difference”
– If you could give one piece of advice to the whole world, what would it be?
Erin: Love and good beats hate any day. To see that so many people hate each other and want war is just horrific, even just a slight angry glance at someone in school or work is terrible.
Noel: Love. There’s so much going on in our world today and I think that humanity has kind of lost sight of what love really is. It’s not some emotion that makes you go all crazy, its a choice. And just because we don’t agree with people doesn’t mean that we don’t think that they’re an amazing person. We can love a person without agreeing with their life choices.
- What do you want to be when you grow up?
Erin: My dream job would be an author/illustrator. I love creating art and drawing and painting. I also love writing and photography so a job like that would really suit my creative personality.
Noel: My dream job is a part time author, part time mom, and maybe teaching a little in between.
- If you weren’t human, which animal would you be?
Erin: I’d probably be a dog. Loyal and energetic but sometimes lazy!
Noel: I don’t know… At first I was thinking a deer, but now I’m thinking I’d like to be either a bird or a dolphin. I really don’t know.
- Which song are you listening to the most?
Erin: I think I’ve been listening to Ed Sheeran a lot and even some classic One Direction! The song I’ve been listening to the most though is “Confident” by Demi Lovato.
Noel: Again, I have to choose one? I’ve loved listening to Taylor Swift’s new album Reputation, but I guess I’ve also been listening to Hello by Adele on repeat.
- What is one (new year’s) resolution you’ve never solved?
Erin: Self-confidence. You may not think it but in the real world I’m really shy and always compare myself to others. It’s very hard to get over this phase so I’d really like some tips!
Noel: Well I just wrote a post on New Year’s Resolutions! But I guess one of my New Year’s resolutions that has never been solved is the one where I’m way outgoing and courageous. I always let my fears control who I am, and especially this year I’ve been trying to change that.
- Are you always on your phone?
Erin: No, I’m always crafting and drawing although I go on my phone every to set alarms, keep on top of my email inbox and keep up to date in the blogging and social media.
Noel: I wouldn’t say always. I do have a lot of long distance friends that I try to keep in touch with, but I also try to live in the real world.
- What is one bad habit of yours?
Erin: I guess the isn’t a bad habit but I do not have a great sense of style! At the moment I’m wearing a chunky knit jumper with black leggings. I know right?
Noel: And here, folks, is the serious question. Like I said before I really let my fear dictate my choices in life and I’m trying to change that, but also I sometimes let what I want to do get in front of my better judgement. Like recently I’ve gotten a serious shoulder injury during competitive swimming, and the reason why it is so serious is because I didn’t take care of it when it first started getting bad.
I hope you all enjoyed reading this post, and let me know if you too would like to do a guest post on my blog, or if you have some questions you would like me to answer!
Thanks so much for reading, and have a happy new year.
Did you know that seven days after New Year’s Eve is when the most suicides are committed? The reason why is because it is when they realize that they have “failed” at their New Year’s resolutions and feel like there’s nothing to live for.
What I think one of the problems with this is, is the fact that we try to implement so many new things at once. It’s hard to keep track of the 12 New Year’s resolutions that you came up with all at once. This is why I think that the monthly new year’s plan is a good call. In this way, you add in one good thing every month, as opposed to adding them all in at once at the beginning of the year. That way you have a little bit of time to adjust to your new habits.
Now, depending on what your New Year’s resolutions are, you might not exactly follow my “plan” but if you feel like some of these ideas are things that you want to incorporate into your plan, then feel free to do it…my ideas in this post are free.
As you’ve probably already gathered, I will be posting as my progress progresses….I don’t know if that was grammatically correct but I’m gonna roll with it. I really want to encourage you guys as you go on a journey to a better you and a better lifestyle.
After all, that is what my blog is truly about. I’ve been going through a stage lately where it’s hard for me to appreciate the small things in life. Sometimes, at least for me, it’s good to slow down for one night, and appreciate all the friends and family and laughter around you.
Happy New Year,
P.S. Don’t forget to write down some of YOUR New Year’s resolutions below!!!
I wasn’t going to post this late, but somehow the day got away from me. I know most of you are done celebrating and, if you are like me, are cuddling up and drinking hot cocoa.
What I did this Christmas:
6:00 My siblings wake me up because I’ve “Been Sleeping too long” and drag me downstairs to open up stockings that have mysteriously been filled overnight by Santa (And yes, I do know Santa’s secret identity) After opening stockings we kind of just curl up in blankets for a while and procrastinate moving at all.
7:00 Eating cinnamon rolls for breakfast. These are the literal best, and yes, I am planning on posting the recipe soon. How could I not? My family’s secret ingredient: Apples. You MUST have apples on the bottom of your pan, because then they taste like apple pies!!!
8:00 We’re all stuffed with sweet sugary goodness so we head back over to the living room, and I start to pass out the presents from under the tree. Have I mentioned that I have 4 siblings? We have such a mound of presents that we take a break at 10:00 and then come back for more. (my mom likes to watch us each open up each present.)
10:00 We take a break from presents and I go upstairs and curl up in my new electric blanket while my siblings play with their new toys
11:00 We head back to the tree and start opening the presents from the much much smaller pile. All my siblings LOVED their presents and I enjoyed laughing at all of mine. I got a lot of clothes, which I plan to do a post on at some point. They are all gorgeous and most of them are also hilarious…
12:00 We are all hungry again so we start eating some of our candy from our stockings and along with some leftovers from the Christmas Eve dinner.
1:00 My sisters got the Lego Friends Hospital set so I helped them build that and cried because of how long it took
3:00 Hot chocolate anyone?
4:00 Okay so now I’m exhausted but refuse to admit it. We FaceTime with some of the relatives and I cringe at how messy my hair is but make no move to fix it (Anyone else feeling me)
5:00 I go up to my room and lay on my bed for a while before coming back down to the table for some dinner. We eat leftovers from the night before, along with the yummy yummy pies
6:00 We are all stuffed and so sit on the couch and watch the best movie ever: Elf!!! This movie is the best Christmas movie ever. You can tell how much I love it by the fact that I am cringing every time Buddy the Elf does something incredibly supid
9:00 Work on my next post
10:00 Decide to write this post
10:13 Publish the AMAZING CHRISTMAS POST!!!

Thanks so much, and I’m so excited to hear what you guys do!
If you’ve been reading my blog for more than three second, you will know that I love love love Christmas. I adore Christmas. I count down the days of the year until Christmas. And now it FINALLY here!!! EEEEK!
My favorite part of Christmas is thinking of what I want to give who. I have so many amazing, wonderful, amazing, beautiful, inspiring people in my life. (Yes, the amazing had to be in there twice)
By December I have either bought all my presents, or I have everything planned out. This year, I bought my family gifts from Budapest, which you can read about in my 12 Days in Budapest post. I got them the most amazing gifts, and I couldn’t have chosen better.
That being said, I am a horrible horrible gift wrapper. Horrible. I don’t know how to wrap presents. It’s the sad cold truth. Most of the time they end up looking less than beautiful. Maybe less than less than beautiful. Anyways, I came up with this brilliant idea that if I put everything in those treat bags that kids get at birthday parties, tie them with ribbon, and add a pretty gift tag, the receiver won’t care because they received a gift that was perfect for them, and that’s just beautiful.
So I made a six beautiful FREE gift tags that are just simply amazing. All you have to do is copy my screenshot of the gift tags, print them out on cardstock, punch a hole, and tie them on your gift. (Yes, sadly I cannot tie the gift tag to your gift from behind the computer screen. Not that you’d want me to anyways.
Thanks so much for checking out this small and insignificant post, and come back soon for more Christmas posts!
Okay, so lets be honest here. My FAVORITE part of wintertime, is drinking hot chocolate. I love hot chocolate so much. And also hot cocoa. Let’s not forget that they are different things. How? You might ask… well hot chocolate is made with milk, and hot cocoa is made with water. It actually kind of makes sense. Either way my sister Debbie and I made this recipe for the YUMMIEST HOT CHOCOLATE EVER!!!! (Like my use of exclamation points?)
What You Need:
2 Cups of Chocolate Chips
4 Cups of Milk
1 Can of Whipped Cream
Add chocolate chips and milk to a pan over medium heat, stirring constantly.
As soon as all the chocolate has melted, remove from the heat, and pour into mugs, then top off with whipped cream.
Ta da! It was so easy and simple!
Have fun and happy cooking,
